2012 New Year! New Budget!
It's 2012 and it's a new day! I know this time of year, many of us are working on
dropping a few pounds. Well, how about putting our Budget on a
diet! Go with me for a second! What if we wrote it out and made it plain that
in 2012, we are only spending XYZ per month on eating out, and that's it. No
cheating! :)
So Let's take the 1st step in getting our bank accounts fit and in shape by writing our budget plan. The sweet and fast version of a budget consist of your income minus
expenses that you pay out every month. The goal is to have some money left over after paying your expenses (and yes, it is possible, especially in God's economy). You can take advantage of free online budgeting tools at Mint.com.
Writing the budget is the first step in the right direction. Next you can
look for areas where you can shed a pound or two. For example, can I find a
cheaper cell plan? Am I paying too much for cable entertainment? Yes, I know
that "cutting back" on spending can feel like lifting a 100 lb weight, but it's
so worth the effort when your bank account is looking fit and fabulous!
